Open API

Fetch company data as JSON. Free, no key required, and built on open register data.

Getting started

The base URL is https://proffi.no/api/v1. All responses are JSON with open CORS, so you can call the API directly from the browser. The limit is 60 requests per minute per IP address. If you need more, get in touch at hei@proffi.no.

Fetch one company

The response contains name, organisation form, industry, status, address, employees, date of incorporation and the latest known key figures (revenue and operating profit).

Search

Parameters: q (name or organisation number), municipality (municipality number), nace (industry code, prefix) and limit (1–50).

Error codes

400 – invalid or missing parameter
404 – the company does not exist
429 – too many requests, see retry-after

Specification and licence

Full OpenAPI specification (3.0). The data comes from the Brønnøysund Register Centre under the NLOD licence. Credit “Source: Brønnøysund Register Centre via Proffi” when you display it. We give no guarantee that the data is complete or up to date, and the API is not suitable as the sole basis for credit decisions.
